Liquid Forest by Alexis Lago

Alexis’s work explores the intersection of myth, symbolism, and the human connection to nature—both real and imagined. His imagery emerges from a personal and spiritual search, reflecting how small and fleeting our world feels in contrast to a vast, often unfathomable universe that nonetheless pulses within us.

His series Liquid Forest is a meditation on the chaotic fluidity of contemporary life, where everything is transient and noisy. The works attempt to carve out stillness and presence amid this turbulence, probing unseen connections and seeking what is essential and enduring. Rooted in his experience of living on a peninsula, the series also evokes a sense of insularity, introspection, and timeless exploration.

Compositions by Julio Julio

In his current practice, Julio begins non-objectively—applying color and gesture without conceptual intent—often yielding natural forms that, to him, resemble landscapes, figures, creatures, and anything in between. From this initial chaos, he builds compositions intuitively, often covering and revisiting elements in the works to explore any aesthetic choice possible. From these outcomes, he titles his artworks based on the monsters or vistas he finds in them, clueing the viewers into his perspective and hoping they might find something drastically different.

Put Together A Collage Exhibition

Put Together: A Collage Exhibition was an open invitation for all artists working in the collage medium to submit their work for a curated exhibition dedicated entirely to celebrating the multifaceted art form at the Alliance’s Member Gallery. Whether traditional or digital, two-dimensional or sculptural, we sought out pieces that represent and honor collage and its unique ability to transform and reimagine reality.

Featured Artists: Denise Andresen, Marian Fuller, Alba Olea, Priscilla Jeffcoat, Leah Schneider, Hillel Zaremba, Glinda Stamm, Carolyn Gora, Maureen Ginipro, Taylor Scalzo, Patti Wisniewski, Jayne Baker, Anthony Record, Sharyn Dahn, Nathalie Steer, Elizabeth Di Donna.
